China does not recognize so-called ‘Arunachal Pradesh' illegally set up by India: FM spokesperson_我的网站

A | (ECNS) -- Chinese travelers in Cambodia can now use WeChat Pay to scan local KHQR codes for everyday purchases under a cross-border QR payment service launched Tuesday in Phnom Penh by the National Bank of Cambodia and WeChat Pay. Under the first phase, WeChat Pay users can scan KHQR codes at Cambodian merchants to pay for dining, shopping, transportation, tourism and entertainment. KHQR is Cambodia’s QR payment standard. The service also allows Cambodian merchants to accept payments from WeChat Pay users through their existing KHQR system without additional transaction fees. Cambodia received 450,000 Chinese tourists in the first half of 2026. A pilot visa-free policy for Chinese citizens took effect on June 15. From then through Aug. 12, the number of Chinese visitors purchasing tickets to the Angkor Archaeological Park rose 13% from a year earlier. (By Intern Yang Hongran, Zhang Dongfang)

B | (ECNS) -- Zangnan, the southern part of the Xizang autonomous region, is China's territory, and China does not recognize the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh" illegally set up by India, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun on Monday. Guo made the remarks in response to questions about India's reported announcement on Friday of the "standard names" of 27 locations in "Arunachal Pradesh." India's Ministry of Home Affairs said that identifying them formally on the map is aimed at "facilitating their accurate recognition and better awareness among the public at large." "India's move of attempting to replace names long been used by China is illegal, null and void. Still less will it change the fact that Zangnan region belongs to China," Guo said.
